Rest and relax at Ave del Paraiso, in this 2 acre property on the beach. Beautiful private 2nd floor with a fully equipped kitchen, hand- carved furniture,air conditioning in bedroom with queen size bed ,tile and stone work done by local craftsman.After march 15/19,we rent the main floor also.After April 30th/18 off season rates available. There is a refreshing pool in a fragrant garden and an endless private beach only seconds away , and frequent release of baby sea turtles you can help to the sea. .We also have Cabin on the property that has a kitchen and is furnished with queen size bed,dresser, shower and hot water that rents for 30 US a night.The last 2 pictures are of this cabin.

You can have a glass of wine and watch the sunset from your open living room, or at the beach.

We can set up a fishing trip or diving trip,or you can just go out on the boat to sight see the many dolphins,if lucky a whale or two.You can catch Sailfish,Marlin,Mahi Mahi or Tuna.

There is also a great tour guide her name is Gina,who is english speaking,and has many tours including a lagoon wild life tour.

This isn't a resort with crowds and lots of rules. You are a 15 minute walk from a small village, La Barra, where you can sit for a drink and a meal by the river front, and you're a 10 minute drive to Puerto Escondido. You can take a long walk on the beach or relax and barbecue around the pool or lay in the hammock with a good book.

We Have a Manager ,Eduardo that will drive Guests for shopping or day outings for a small fee,There are taxis or 'colectivos' (A very inexpensive mass transit to bring you between areas). Colectivos are a covered truck with benches in the box.

The house owners downstairs are also able to help with some transportation.

There is cellular service from Telcel so no communications issues.

Internet (WIFI) is included with the price of the rental.

Flat screen T.V. satellite and DVD Player are also included.

About Ivan&Barb DeRoussy Hi our names are Ivan and Barb. We are Canadians and love this beautiful house to spend the winter months. We love to scuba and spearfish and go to the beach, so very fresh fish is usually available. Sometimes if we get lucky there could even be a lobster feast downstairs! We are very down to earth and easy going people and look forward to seeing you there Why Ivan&Barb DeRoussy chose Santa María Colotepec We have spent many years in Puerto Escondido and have long ago fallen in love with the town and the people. When we found the property on the ocean we couldn't resist owning a small piece of paradise. Palm trees and fragrant flowers around the pool really complete the setting. What makes this House unique This property is its own little bit of mexico, and there are no crowds and few rules. The first time you watch the sunset go down from the beach you will understand.

We Found Paradise

This was one of, if not the best vacations we've had in Mexico. Barb and Ivan arranged an air conditioned taxi to bring us from Huatulco airport to the property. Our taxi driver spoke english and gave us lots of insight into the area during the drive which flew by. Upon arrival our friendly hosts, Barb and Ivan, showed us our wonderful accommodations and around the beautiful tropical paradise. The pictures really don't do it justice. We spent many days relaxing between the pool and the beach which is just steps away. The pool was so refreshing and a treat to hang out at. The beach is endless and you basically have it to yourself. The surf was pretty big when we were there and was so much fun to play in. After enjoying the beautiful sunset we retired to our comfortable suite which had all the amenities of home. There's even a smart TV if you want to stay connected although we only used it a couple times as it was so nice to listen to the serenity that this secluded location provides. Nothing like laying in the hammock in the family room and listening to the waves roll in. Access to and from town is so simple. A quick walk down a tree covered, shaded lane brings you to a classic Mexican village called La Barra. From here you can easily find either a $6 dollar cab or 40 cent collectivo ride into Puerto Escondido. Once there you have access to fantastic shopping, outstanding restaurants, adventurous excursions, magnificent beaches, world class surfing, etc, etc. Barb and Ivan were so awesome. They were so friendly and have such great energy. They helped us out with several rides to town, lots of local information as well as a few entertaining "happy hours". They have created such a beautiful atmosphere. Whether you just hang out or visit the surrounding areas, you really have the best of both worlds staying at Barb and Ivan's. When we come back we will be staying here again.
