The road that leads up to Villa Montemeru is private and well maintained all year round. The driveway leading up to the house is made of concrete. Once you arrive, you are immediately taken in by the panoramic views. Since we are not directly on the main road you are not affected by noise and dust.
The house is custom furnished with beds, tables, chairs and closets in various tropical hardwoods. There are altogether four bedrooms, each with private entrance, private bathroom and deck or terrace. All beds come with top of the line mattresses and 100% cotton linens. The windows and French doors are oversize and offer magnificent ocean views. Three of the bedrooms have a king size bed each, while the fourth comes with two queen size beds. The master bedroom features a 42" wall-mounted flat panel Smart TV with Satellite TV reception and Bluetooth stereo system. All bedrooms have ceiling fans that keep the interior cool at all times. The bathrooms are tiled in either ceramic, marble or natural stone, with eclectic accents that give each of them a unique look. Solar hot water systems automatically switch to electricity in the rare event that there isn't enough sun. The ground floor features a sunken kitchen, a pavilion style dining and recreational area, a large roofed yoga deck with chill-out lounge beds and hammocks, as well as the crystal clear infinity pool maintained with a minimum of chemicals. The kitchen comes fully equipped with all necessary appliances, high quality stainless steel cookware, potable filtered water, centrifugal juicer, blender, an espresso machine, WiFi and stereo system.
The house and surrounding structures are set within gardens replete with tropical fruit trees and flowering ornamental plants, butterflies and iguanas. Frequent visits by exotic birds and monkeys are to be expected. The sun sets in the Pacific ocean right in front and regales the visitor with a daily changing spectacle. Our guests enjoy absolute privacy in an atmosphere of exquisite tranquility. There are two lovely beaches within five walking minutes and four restaurants also within walking distance.

We are happy to arrange any type of recreational activities, such as fishing, snorkeling and boat tours, horseback riding tours, surf lessons, SUP tours, zip line adventures, quad and vehicle rentals, as well as domestic travel arrangements.
Mal País, originally a sleepy fishing village at the northern periphery of Costa Rica's first National Park, the Riserva Absoluta Cabo Blanco, today still retains much of its original tranquility and picturesque charm. Just as in days past, the fishermen arrive each afternoon with their daily catch, which they offer to the public. You won't find fresher fish than that. Being more residential, Mal País boasts only a handful of hotels and restaurants along the main road, but the hills are dotted with luxury homes and celebrity hideaways. The village is blessed with a picturesque landscape and the world class surf of Playa Carmen, which attracts surfers from all around the world. The name Mal País, also written Malpaís, allegedly comes from a stone found in the area which the indigenous Chorotega natives called Mah Pah and was subsequently bastardized into Malpaís by the Spanish conquistadors.
Only a couple of miles up the road, Santa Teresa has all the hustle and bustle of a growing tourist attraction, with its hotels, restaurants, bars and shopping. But no matter how busy the main road, the beaches are always uncrowded, with a year round warm Pacific ocean in front and lush tropical vegetation behind.
Being one of the premier surf destinations in Costa Rica, the waves are the main attraction that lure visitors. But other recreational opportunities abound. Fishing and snorkeling tours, horseback riding along the beach or in the hills, gliding through the rain forest canopy on zip lines, hiking, exotic bird watching or just lying on a quiet but not entirely secluded beach and getting that healthy tan from an ozone rich stratosphere above, it all adds up to bliss.
For those looking for entertainment the area offers a wide variety of attractions such as various bars, full moon beach parties with international DJ's, Cafes and a weekly organic produce and flea market.
Our area also offers a variety of yoga studios, Tai Chi, massage therapists, chiropractors as well as other alternative health and wellness practitioners for those that enjoy healthy living in a stress free environment.
There are great restaurants along the beaches, two Japanese Sushi Bars, Cafes as well as three European style bakeries. The southern Nicoya Peninsula combines breathtaking nature with high quality living. Come and enjoy it in the first class setting of Villa Montemeru.
