The Hotel boasts dramatic panoramic views across this constantly changing landscape to the Loweswater valley and mountains beyond, including the imposing Melbreak, from which the Hotel takes its name, and to the rugged coastline of the Solway Firth. Nearby is Workington and the Cumbrian Coast. This is a handy location for both business visitors and holiday makers, being close to the A66, the main route through the North Lakes.
