Description

Stunning beauty, peace and relaxation describe the atmosphere and character of Arawak Bay: the Inn at Salt River, this charming B&B on St. Croix’s north shore. Breathtaking views of Salt River Bay and the Caribbean Sea from each room, glimpses of St. Thomas and Tortola, island breakfasts with house specialties and relaxation by the pool and bar, affirm that you are in America’s paradise even as you stay connected via free, in-room, wireless access and satellite TV. The welcoming and gracious hospitality of hosts, Jennifer and Lionel, often earn the guests’ characterization as their “home away from home”.

Close to the Henry E Rohlsen International airport and to downtown Christiansted, to area restaurants, to popular beaches including Cane Bay, and to a variety of water sports activities, the Inn is perfectly situated for both business and vacation travel. It is a 3 minute walk from the Salt River Marina from which kayaking and boating tours can be arranged and a 10 minute drive from the Cane Bay Dive Shop which offers such marine sports as snorkeling and scuba diving. Arawak Bay partners with the Cane Bay Dive Shop to ensure that both your island diving experience and your accommodations are superb. Its proximity to the St. Croix Marina accommodates your arrival by land or by sea and provides you with easy access to Gold Coast Yachts, the premier boat-building facility in the Virgin Islands and Caribbean.

Less than 5 minutes from the Salt River National Park and the Salt River Bay,  Arawak Bay, ” it is the perfect locale ” from which to explore and experience the archaeological and marine treasures of St Croix. Enjoy the blend of sea and land with mangrove forests and coral reefs and countless species of birds, fish and sea turtles as you kayak or snorkel in the vicinity of the Salt River Bay. The National Park Visitor Center site provides insights into the rich history and culture of the US Virgin Islands.

Constructed and opened in March 2007, Arawak Bay is a 14 room Bed and Breakfast Inn that boasts all the amenities of a modern hotel. It is owned and operated by Lionel and Jennifer, a Caribbean couple whose love of the Virgin Islands and whose willingness to share the island’s treasures with you are reflected in the daily operation of the Inn.

At Arawak Bay You Feel Part Of The Family
InvestCaribbean

At Arawak Bay, Mr. Lionel and Dr. Jennifer Jackson make you a part of their extended family. Infact, after just a week at this hotel, I now feel like Jennifer's colleague and friend. Her warmth is amazing and they go above and beyond to cater to their guests and ensure personal care and service. This extends to breakfast. I thoroughly enjoyed the local breakfast delights like Johnny cakes and saltfish and the local fruits like papaya and mangoes. And where in the world would you find a trust bar? That's right - a bar you can serve yourself while hanging out by the pool and not having a pesky tab or bar tender. This couple trusts you to pay for what you drink at the end of your stay. Amazing in today's world. The view of the sea early morning and the sunrise and sunsets are also spectacular. Arawak certainly feels like home away from home.

Like home but better cook!

My husband and I had an extended stay while attending to boat repairs at Salt River Marina. We also had to bring in work crew so there were three or four of us for a month or so. Quiet and clean, nice plunge pool and attractive lobby. But the greatest thing about the stay was the couple running it, Lionel and Jennifer. Greeted us every morning with attentiveness and friendly conversation. Made up a delicious breakfast and good endless cups of coffee. They know where to find what you need and energetically try to help your stay be a pleasant one. The service was excellent!

I had the pleasure of spending the weekend at Arawak due to diving business and had never heard of this hotel so it was such a pleasant surprise of not only seeing how nice everyone was, fantastic room, quiet and serene location! The room was on the second floor with a great view, immaculately clean, and very cozy and warm. It had a comfortable bed and even a massage chair in the room. AC was great and I slept like a baby! I frequently go to st croix and have found my new favorite place to stay. Also the location was perfect because it was so close to all the great diving by the "wall" Thank you for a wonderful weekend. I will be back! God bless

Amazing Experience and Owners

I went down to St. Croix as a class trip over spring break and stayed with Jennifer and Lionel for a week. The place was extremely neat and the food was absolutely wonderful. Jennifer is an amazing woman who helped make my stay one of the most memorable. She was extremely acccomidating and so knowledgable and the views from the rooms are breathtaking. The Inn is about a ten minute walk to the beach where you can watch the sunrise or sunset. The service was amazing all around, and I highly recommend if you plan on visiting St Croix to stay with these two wonderful people.

Best Inn on the island

Great place to stay! The rooms are very clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and it is in a great location (short distance from downtown, very close to the beach!). The pool/bar area was a great place to relax. Jennifer and Lionel are wonderful hosts and take very good care of the inn. Jennifer is probably one of the best cooks I've met in my life, and Lionel makes the most amazing BBQ ribs! The amenities were in great condition and I felt very comfortable there. This is a wonderful place to stay for people of all ages!

An Absolute Gem!

Arawak Bay Inn at Salt River is a true gem. It was an absolute pleasure and delight to wake up here on a daily basis. Owners Lionel and Jennifer go above and beyond to accommodate the needs of all their guests. They are warm and welcoming and take turns preparing delicious meals that make for an incredible and unique experience. The Inn overlooks a pristine bay and the second floor rooms provide a serene view of a natural Caribbean paradise. They have a beautiful pool, outdoor bar, and conference room, as well as wi-fi throughout the property. The Arawak Inn is close in proximity to exciting kayaking excursions, historic sites, nature preserves, fabulous beaches and the major downtown areas. Thank you again for all of your hospitality Jennifer and Lionel. You provided me with a unique and wonderful first experience in St. Croix!

Great Owners and Location!

Jennifer is the best! Her husband is a terrific cook, the breakfasts were great. I asked about a traditional St. Croix salt fish breakfast and the next morning they made it for me. They honestly seem to care that you are having and good vacation are ready with suggestions or anything they can do to help. It was one of the best vacations I have taking in a long time from the Dining, Beaches, Boardwalk, to the AMAZING SCUBA DIVING!!!

Great Bed and Breakfast

The Arawak Inn is more like a B & B on the quiet northern part of St. Croix. Managed and owned by a great couple Lionel and Jennifer. Jennifer and Lionel were GREAT hosts over satisfying all of our requests. The Arawak has very clean, safe rooms with very comfortable beds. WiFi was the main means of communications to back home. Rooms are comfortable and have AC, our room had no ceiling fans, which we prefer over AC. Lionel was a terrific cook. Coffee was flavorful and not weak. Tea was numerous types and flavors. Breakfast were whatever we ordered. We would go back to our room to find the bed made up, and the room with fresh towels Cell phone showed no service at the Arawak for Verizon, which was on roaming through whatever spotty service was available on the island. I recommend a GPS that receives signals from the satellites as road signage is lacking where needed, and sometimes found after driving on the wrong road for a while. Again I say, the Arawak Inn is a great place to stay while on St. Croix. They will do all they can to make your stay pleasant.

Best Place to Stay on the Island
Carly P

Jennifer, the owner, and the rest of staff were welcoming and friendly. The rooms were very clean, large, and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was always delicious and Jennifer is extremely accommodating. I have a lot of food sensitivities and she made sure that there was something for me to eat. There is a beautiful view of the water and balconies. The pool, free wifi, and honor bar system were all extra amenities that made my stay that much more pleasant. This is the place to stay when visiting St.Croix.

FRIENDS FOR LIFE

On this most recent trip to St Croix, we didn't want the hustle and bustle of a resort nor the condominium conundrum (as we call it) so chose the Arawak Bay: The Inn at Salt River. It was absolutely the perfect choice for us. From the moment we walked in the door until we checked out for the second time, the hospitality was top notch, from the heart and genuine. Yes, you read that correctly: checked out for the second time. Our original plan was to stay one week however after our flight to San Juan had been grounded due to weather, we missed our connecting flight. I called Jennifer to see if she had a room available for the night just so we could regroup and figure out what options we had. She was so kind saying come on back, don't worry, I will figure something out. When we arrived, the entire staff welcomed us back and we all joked about the comments I had made about definitely coming back. A little laughter goes a long way. The St Croix Iron-man Triathlon was held the following day with the bicycle journey being right in front of the B & B. Jennifer, Lionel and Henry were out there bright and early cheering the participants on. Of course they welcomed all guests to join in. I thought to myself...it was really was a sense of community to cheer on the participants. Again showing the genuine hospitality to the island visitors that came from all over the globe to participate in the triathlon. There are just way too many acts of kindness to list. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the bathrooms well stocked with towels and toiletries and clean as well. Jennifer, Henry and Lionel all help out with breakfast. They each have their specialties and all good. If the B & B is not full and there is time, Henry will sit with you for a few minutes while you enjoy your breakfast. He's always got a great story to tell. I highly recommend Arawak Bay Inn at the Salt River to anyone who enjoys peace and serenity. So if you're tired of the hustle and bustle of the resort scene or the condominium conundrum, this is definitely the place to be! As Henry always says "this is paradise".
