Sarnano is situated right in the middle of a district called “little speels land”; whit its buildings in coctile bricks, it is an important example of medieval architecture, one of the best preserved in the Marche region. The quiet medieval borgo, topped by two solid towers, overlooks the modern town and a steep winding street leads up to beautifull Piazza Alta, flaned by the church of Santa Maria Assunta and other fascinating medieval buildings. Interesting town for its history, art and enviroment (it was awarted the “orange flag”, for enviroment merits), sarnano is also center of winter sports, the ideal base camp for visiting the close park of “Monti Sibillini) or other important tourist and cultural centres, such as Macerata, Recanati, Tolentino, Urbisaglia and the Fiastra Abbbey. |
