Description

Jarrow, a 19th century coral-stone villa, is nestled on the beautiful south coast of Half Moon Bay, St. Lawrence. Its gentle elevation allows you to sit on the sun deck and watch the fishermen go out to the sea early in the morning , and return with the day's catch -- which you can have freshly prepared in the comfort of your villa or barbecue on the large deck.
 
The gingerbread-style villa boasts three double bedrooms, two large bathrooms, and spacious mirrored dressing rooms.
From the foyer, living and dining area and well-equipped kitchen, you can enjoy the spectacular views of the sea.
The unique beach at your doorstep. is protected by a reef which makes it excellent for swimming in the day or at night. You might be joined with friendly turtles!
The skylights in the bedrooms and lounge enable you to view the beauty of the moonlight, and to welcome the morning sun.
The southeast breezes of the Caribbean sea continuously waft through the villa, keeping it fresh and cool.
There are ideal swimming and snorkeling conditions for children as the tide is always low in the bay.
We are a 15-minutes drive from the airport, and walking distance to leading restaurants, nightclubs, supermarkets, shops, and golf course.
Snorkeling, sailing, scuba diving windsurfing and much more are available in the bay. Come See and Believe!!!

About the Owner

Timothy Boyce is the Managing Director of Tourism Investment management Inc. He has in excess of 30 years experience in Resort Hotel Management both in the operations and Financial capacity. He takes a pride in the restoration of Historic properties and Villa jarrow which is over 200 years old is one of those historic properties that he boldly defied the Banks and the Engineers to restore. A wonderful job was done over the two years that it took to restore the property. The repeat ratio in excess of 60% is a testimony of the vacation experience that is offered at this Historic Property nestled in the heart of most of requisites for a lasting holiday experience. Timothy Boyce purchased this villa in 1989

The place is perfect if you want a genuine (versus canned resort type) experience in Barbados. The house is historic and well kept. About the location, my daughter said it best "our backyard is the OCEAN!"

First of all, Timothy is one of the most amazing owners we have ever met! He was at Villa Jarrow when we arrived and showed us through the house. We had a lovely drink of rum punch (which he brought) at the picnic table overlooking the Gap. Then he was kind enough to take us on a tour of the Gap and drop us off at Massy’s to get essentials. The fishermen come in daily so you are able to get fresh fish or lobster about 50 yards from the deck. The house is right above the beach with a simple walk down the stairs. And the ocean is a beautiful turquoise and extremely calm. There are a number of sea turtles that swim in the bay. Bruce and myself were fortunate to have them swim within about 15 ft of us daily. We also had the pleasure of Timothy’s company one evening during our stay. There were many laughs and reflections in life. It was one of our most enjoyable evenings. In addition, Rose the housekeeper was a wonderful person. She washed all of our towels and bedding, changed the bed and cleaned the house. It was spotless. Thanks Rose! What we wanted in a holiday was complete privacy and relaxation. Villa Jarrow was our piece of paradise. We hope to have the pleasure of returning sometime in the near future. Again, thank you Timothy for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home. Please take care our friend.

best vacation ever!!

I spent months searching for the perfect vacation house and when we arrived at Villa Jarrow I knew I had found it. My kids and grandkids would stay there the week of Aug.7th to the 13th and when they leave my husband and I would spend the next week. My husand loved the place so much that if it is ever for sale he would buy it. My family had a great time there. They were able to get around without a car. The grandkids loved being on the beach. My son was able to walk toa fitness center and his wife was able to go jogging and she felt very safe. I would definitely use this place over and over again. Mr. Boyce is very nice. He is calm, clear and patient. I had a lot of questions and he answered them all either by texting or by calling. I would like to congratulate Mr. Boyce on his beautiful Villa. We wish him the best and hope that it will always be there for future generations to love and admire as we did. We really enjoyed it . It felt as though we were on our honeymoon. No cares in the world. I have been home for a week and I miss the place.

Beautiful place! Tim was a fantastic host! The beach was great, the rooms and general area was very clean. Right beside the gap... karaoke bar is closed down now.. great restaurants within 2 mins walking distance. Beach was great, not as nice as Accra but still great. There is wifi for your phones, all bedrooms have air conditioning and the cleaning service was fantastic. 6 of us stayed here and we were all very comfortable. You can walk to the grocery store (10 min walk). Will definitely stay here again. Cheers

This was undoubtably the best location for a vacation we could have asked for. The pictures do not do it justice. I loved being able to stroll right out with my coffee and see the sea so close. Loved watching the sea turtles from the deck. The people were great. Timothy was a gracious host. I will be back as soon as I can get there! I have fallen for Barbados!

We spent 10 days here in the new year and had the most fabulous time. We dealt with Timothy from start to finish. The man is a complete professional. Completely honest and thoroughly helpful. He arranged for the taxi to pick us up at the airport and was there to greet us at the villa. The villa is well equipped, spotlessly clean and perfectly situated. I cannot imagine there's a better location anywhere on the island. There are 2 spectacular beaches within a couple of minutes walk that are not packed but are quite well populated but right outside the rear doors of the villa is a beautiful bay that couldn't have had more than a handful of people on it in all the 10 days we were there. From the deck you will see the 3 sea turtles that shelter in the bay. They will let you swim within touching distance of them. St Lawrence Gap has many very good restaurants and bars. They all offer something a little different from each other. I had read a review of the villa that complained about noise and whilst I agree that it may have spoilt their stay but can you expect to stay in the busiest, liveliest part of the island and not expect to hear late night music. We rang Timothy for help and advice a couple of times during our stay. He always picked up and was more than happy to help. Our only downside of the complete trip was being ripped off by the vodka bar across the road. Twice as much as anywhere else, plastic cups, hardly any drinks to choose from. Do yourself a favour avoid this place, there's literally hundreds of better places to drink.
