This place is absolutely AMAZING. Mark is the man.
My stay at sweet escape exceeded my expectations. Kerion was very friendly and made sure that my guests and I had clean linen and towels at all times. Mark went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. He took us to the supermarket to get groceries which was pretty nice and he made sure we had breakfast and dinner every day. He answered whatever questions we had and ensured that we got whatever we needed. Carla, was very helpful and replied to messages quickly. She even assisted me with my dress on my wedding day, which was unexpected but greatly appreciated. I definitely will be staying here when I return to Jamaica. If I could give you guys 10 stars I would.
Sweet Escape was great, the description and pictures are very accurate. Get a driver, don't try to drive yourself. The roads in Jamaica are very narrow, winding and not all well marked (and they drive on the left side of the road!). The tour group Carla recommends will drive you to/from the airport and on day trips, well worth it. Do convert some money to spend in Black River. Definitely have Mark cook for you - food was fantastic! He will go with you to the market and you can buy whatever you need for the week. We loved Sweet Escape - there were 9 of us in the group and everyone wants to go back!
gorgeous place, right on the beach. was able to get a tour/boat ride to check out the Pelican Bar right from the beach vs going into town. great service. staff was very helpful and friendly. loved having the chef onsite and not have to worry about cooking or going out. would definitely go back! Carla is a great hostess! she is very helpful and responsive, so there was no hassle in trying to figure anything out.
A great house, perfect location at a very nice beach we had almost totally to ourselves. We enjoyed long walks on the beach. The picture of the fishermen pulling out their nets surrounded by by pelicans and beautiful white birds was like taken out of a beautiful movie. The sunsets are stunning! Pelican bar is not to be missed and is only a short boat ride away. The house is very comfortable, the outdoor space is very pleasant. The staff is very helpful and made sure we had all the comfort to enjoy a wonderful long week end. Carla is a great host, she made sure we felt truly welcome, including a welcome meal (a delicious Jamaican curried chicken), fruits, snacks and wine. Thanks, Carla. We loved the 4 days we spent in your lovely house. We'll definitely be back.
