Large brick farmhouse that can be rented as a whole unit for a large group getaway. During the off season we can rent the house as two seperate units for individual families. Both units must be rented together during the summer and also during the spring and fall weekends. The large unit has a small service kitchen, a downstairs bathroom with shower, and a bedroom with a queen bed and sleeper sofa and desk, a large central hallway leading to four more bedrooms, Bedroom #1 has a queen bed, Bedroom 2 has a Queen and a single bed, Bedroom 3 has a double and a single bed and Bedroom 4 has a double bed. There is also a second bathroom with a tub and shower. The smaller second part of the house has a full custom kitchen and living area and sofa and two porches one overlooking the yard and meadow and the other one facing the Strasburg Railroad were you can watch the steam trains pass by in season, you go up the back steps to a small landing which leads to a full bathroom with shower, a bedroom with a queen bed and jacuzzi and also to the upper porch with a two person glider which overlooks the creek and pasture. There is also a large yard with a stream with a picnic table and swing, a large driveway to ride riding toys on, or we can set a volleyball net to play volleyball. |

Spacious home, nice furnishings, huge property to share with the cows. First visit was a family celebration. This visit we brought our friends. Next visit we hope to stay longer to even better enjoy the home and rural area.
What a great place to stay! The house is beautiful with lots of space & all the comforts of home. The setting is absolutely gorgeous & there are dairy cows on the property which were really neat. There were toys for the kids to play with, swing set, a glider & a huge picnic table. Everyone said their beds were comfortable & they slept well. Dale was super nice & we enjoyed chatting with him. if that isn't enough there is a "family fun center" right across the street with lots of activities for families, plus u can buy tickets for the strausburg railroad there & get on the train with in walking distance from the house. I can't imagine a better place to enjoy a Lancaster vacation with a large group, it really was perfect! Thank you Dale & Martha !
The pictures don't do this property justice! It is gorgeous! We took 10 students, along with 4 chaperones to see Jonah and Chocolate World on our way to International Student Convention. We had plenty of room. The home is very clean and roomy. Only 4 miles from Sight and Sound Theatre. We enjoyed playing the piano and singing. Miller's Restaurant was delicious if you're looking for some Amish style buffet meals. We will definitely come here again.
Home is delightful, with plenty of space to gather for a dozen people. The cows behind the house were a bonus and fun to watch. Well-stocked with bath towels, linens, and kitchen supplies. Lots of (touristy) shopping nearby if you're so inclined. Nice to see an 1800's house so well-maintained and updated with modern conveniences!
This was so perfect for our large family. We needed a place for our family to stay for our son's wedding in northern Maryland. This worked out great. We live on a farm in the thumb of Michigan so we felt right at home. The kids loved the large lawn and all the toys that were there to play with. They started calling it Grandma's other house. I'm sure this will be something they will remember for a long time. We have no complaints about anything and was impressed with what was provided at the house to use. If anyone is going to the Lancaster area, I highly recommend this house!
