About the Owner

About Jamie Originally from upstate NY. Purchased this property recently for a place my family can visit and somewhere eventually I can stay for a couple months of the year. Jamie purchased this Cottage in 2013 Why Jamie chose Port Royal I have been looking for years for a spot that I could just relax and enjoy the water. I've traveled from Honduras to the eastern Caribbean chain looking for a spot to call my own and finally found everything I wanted here. What makes this Cottage unique South Bimini is unique with the old charm of Bahamas but in fifteen minutes you can be at a casino, swim up bar, or fine restaurant eating sushi. Sport fishing, diving, snorkeling is all within your reach. Unless you just want relax on the porch with a cold beverage watching the fish swim by.

Thanks for sharing your your home with us. It was nice having the boat right outside. The house was comfortable for two adults and two teenagers. Air conditioner was cold, place was relatively clean. This place was perfect for our needs. It was conveniently located on the canals and you could walk to the beach in less than 10 minutes. It was a short drive to get fuel at Bimini Sands or on North Bimini. The dock out front was fantastic. Loved being able to literally drive up to the door and unload. The house was a great size for just the 2 of us, but could easily accommodate more with the extra bedding in the front room. The air conditioners worked great. The stackable washer and dryer was an added bonus. We certainly appreciate the owner being so flexible with the schedule. We originally rented for the week and ended up adding a few days. Just a few tips: Bring bug spray. No problem during the day but the bugs really come out at night and they're not shy. We used Avon Skin So Soft with great success (Amazon). The water changes with the tides - dock your boat with that in mind. Do not swim in the canal - there are bull sharks. No joke. Wishlist: a microwave would be a nice addition to the kitchen.

This place was perfect for us. After a long day on the water, it is nice to dock the boat and only be a few steps from a hot shower and cold ac. It is charming, quaint and cozy.

Love the cottage and location. My only suggestion would be to have it a little cleaner as some utensils and pots are a little outdated. Bathroom and towels too were a little smelly but otherwise it was fantastic!!!!!! Would not stay anywhere else in Bimini!!!!!
