Charming describes what you will find when you arrive at Stone Quarry. This is an amazing retreat that you will want to linger at for hours even with so many amenities and things to do in the area. The fresh air and quiet give you an R&R feeling you won't forget!  Energetic folks enjoy the hike to the top of the hill for panoramic views across Ithaca taking in Ithaca College, Cornell and Cayuga Lake.

Stone Quarry offers three options, the stone cottage, the tower cottage and the apartment.  Comfort reigns in the bedrooms with superior mattresses - a Tempurpedic in the stone cottage, a Restonic innerspring mattress with a memory foam mattress topper in the apartment, and a Southard organic latex mattress with a thick organic wool and cotton pillowtop layer in the tower cottage.  Each space is furnished with Stickley Mission furniture, oriental carpets, superior linens and towels.

The property is managed with sustainabiltiy in mind, from design and construction to housekeeping -  28,000 watts of solar power, locally harvested oak flooring and woodwork, soy foam insulation, stone from local quarries, customed designed local ironwork, glasswork, and photography, heat-pump cooling and heating and a waterless toilet in the tower, on-demand hot water in the stone cottage.  Sheets are hung on the clothesline for freshness and all cleaning is done with simple, hypo-allergenic products.

Master bedroom features full-size memory foam bed for ultimate comfort plus flat screen TV. Relax before the wood-burning fireplace (or the flat-screen TV) on comfortable Stickley Mission chairs with footstools.  The comfortable sofa opens out to become a surpisingly comfortable queen size bed.

The apartment offers a fully stocked kitchen with cookware, dishes, etc, equipped with high-end appliances, table service and cutlery, and Keurig Vue beverage machine with an assortment of coffees, teas, cocoa and apple juice.

Bookings are available for weekends, weekly and extended stay rentals.

Expect to be delighted!

Location Information

Ithaca is famous as the home of Cornell University and Ithaca College. It has been listed as \"the most enlightened small city in America\". It has also been recognized as one of the best places for families, retiring, non-traditonal lifestyles, and a culinary destination for those interested in artesian fresh locally produced foods and wines.

Carved by glaciers Ithaca\'s gorges are justifiably famous for their beauty and accessibility. The Finger Lakes contribute to the health of local agriculture and viniculture.

Within a few hours drive from most of the northeast\'s major population centers, Ithaca is a green retreat where the pace is slow enough to allow for real relaxation while the arts scene, wineries, and hiking provide excitement.

Great food, wine tours, beautiful surroundings, relaxing pace of life.

Every season is great! The summer is wonderful, green and lush, but winter evenings sitting before the fire after soaking in the Jacuzzi . . . it doesn\'t get more relaxing than that!

Ithaca is most easily reached by car, although their are frequent flights to and from the Ithaca Airport and Ithaca is served by bus lines.

The bus system comes to the corner near the Stone Quarry House once an hour, or two the shopping plaza 2 miles away three times an hour.

Memorial Day weekend is Cornell Graduation, usually booked four years in advance. The third Thursday/Friday in August is usually move in day for new students at Cornell and Ithaca College, and every hotel room is taken by parents of new students.

Ithaca is an accepting community, family oriented, open to alternative lifestyles, with a focus on education and great locally produced food.
