Description

Cliff House is located on Lubbers Quarters Cay in Abaco, Bahamas. The house sits about 50 feet above the Sea of Abaco. It has four bedrooms, two fully equipped kitchen and three full baths. It can accommodate up to 10 people. It has its own dock and a slip in the marina. It has a swimming pool (20 feet by 10 feet) built into the deck facing the ocean. The location is opposite from Tilloo cut, which takes you out into the Atlantic from the Sea of Abaco. TO GET HERE YOU HAVE TO RENT A BOAT OR BRING YOUR OWN!

Facilities at a glance:
Huge Living Room / Kitchen with cathedral ceiling with 16 foot sliding doors which opens up to 10 foot wide deck with an unbelievable view. Four bedrooms, three full baths.
 
Two Master bedrooms have King size beds; attached bathrooms with vanities, shower and toilets. Two guest rooms with shared bathroom; shower, vanity and toilet. East guest room has two twin beds bed. West guest room also has two twin beds.
When the number of Guests are six or less, only the upper level is made available, unless otherwise agreed. The lower level is then left empty.
The lower level with its Master bedroom, Queen bed and pull-out sofa, is available when the number of Guests are seven or more.

Details:
Living space is a total of 2400 sqft.
Front porch deck is about 550 sqft plus a screened-in back porch of 200 sqft.
Size of pool: 20 feet by 10 feet.
Pool area (including pool) is about 625 sqft.
King size beds: 6 feet 6 inches by 6 feet 4 inches.
Twin beds each 6 feet 1 inch by 3 feet 1 inch.
 
94 steps from the dock to the upstairs deck. (Don't worry, golf cart is included to take you from the marina to the house, takes one minute)
L-shaped dock 140 feet. Only about 1.5' at extremely low tide.
All our water comes from rain. We have two built-in concrete tanks with liners. Each tank holds 7000 gallons when full.
Depending on the water situation, normally you may use water as needed, but take care not to waste it.
 
This is an amazing place. We have traveled and sailed in many places of the world and have found this place unparalleled in beauty with its clear waters and unspoiled environment. It is easy to communicate since English is the native language. People are very friendly. People who have experience say that it is like Florida used to be 50 years ago.
 
There are three different water environments:
The Atlantic Ocean (accessible through Tilloo Cut) for fishing and boating.
Sea of Abaco (surrounding Lubbers Quarters Cay) for beaches, kayaking, boating and fishing. The Sea of Abaco is protected from the Atlantic Ocean by a string of thin islands.
 
The Shallows close to Abaco Island (three miles from Cliff House). Kayaking, bone fishing, Blue Holes. Birds, turtles, fish, mangroves....beautiful!

Reservations and Cancellations:
Reservations are confirmed upon receiving a 50% deposit. The balance is due in full 45 days prior to arrival date. Cancellations made within the 60 days of your arrival date are non-refundable (except for security deposit) unless alternate guests are booked for that date. If alternate guests are booked, we will refund your reservation in full.
We will refund in full or reschedule your reservations, your option, if there is a Hurricane Warning issued for the Abacos by the National Weather Service (N.O.A.A.) within one week of your arrival date. If you are already at the house and a Hurricane Warning is issued by N.O.A.A., then we will divide the number of nights you have stayed into the weekly rate and only charge you for the nights that you have stayed, and will refund the difference or apply it to another stay (your option).
Last minute reservation must be paid in full when the reservation is made.
 
All payment via PayPal. You don't need to be signed up with PayPal, you can pay with credit card via PayPal. (See Payments Tab)
 
Although we update the Availability Calender as soon as we can after received payments, it can happen that someone else had already booked before we were able to update. Even if we quote you a price or time through the phone or email someone else may have booked in the meantime. We honor bookings as the arrive on our PayPal account. We will immediately refund your deposit if this happened.

We have traveled and sailed in many places of the world and have found this place unparalleled in beauty with is clear waters and unspoiled environment. A very nice place to stay

The abacos was amazing . Cliff house is a great central location to enjoy it, with a sunrise every morning from the Deck ( the best ) or from the gathering area including the spacious kitchen . We ha our 31 cc at the public dock pictured and use of a golf cart to run back & fourth . The house dock is a bit shallow at low tide . No Complaints :)

The house and property is bettter than what the pictures showed on the website. There was so much room, the house was clean, the beds are comfortable, the AC worked great. There were so many extras.. laundry soap, dish soap, plenty of towels, paper towels, sugar, spices, condiments, sunscreen.. the little things were great. There is nothing to do on Lubbers Cay but we didn't care. We spent every day on the boat catching fish and cooking it up at night. They have a propane grill as well. The dock is great, they supply a golf cart with a trailer to transport ourselves and gear to and from the house and boat every day. We rarely needed to make the walk up the huge flight of stairs. The view is spectacular every day and the pool was great! The only negative was the Misquitos were terrible! My 2 kids (19 & 22yrs) got munched. We had spray and used it, but they were still bad. We took the kiyacks across one day to the beach and that was fun. There are 3 kiyacks so all 6 of us could go together. We would definitely stay here again!

Been to Lubbers more than 15 times and this was the best house I have stayed in, bar none! Spectacular views, nicely furnished and finished, best amenities....pool, satellite tv, great kitchen, comfortable beds, and very clean. Protected boat slip in marina + golf cart to get around in. Donny, the caretaker, was great....very attentive and helpful, without being intrusive. I would highly recommend this house to anyone going to Abacos!

We had a wonderful stay at The Cliff House. The house is very nice and furnished comfortably. The view is unbelievable! This was our 3rd trip to The Abacos and 2nd to Lubbers Quarters. This home was our favorite by far. The owners are very quick to answer your emails (and I sent plenty) and Donny, the caretaker, will take care of any issues you have while there. The only small thing was although the house has satellite TV, the subscription is from the West Coast so everything was 3 hours behind. We didn't go to watch TV anyway so after the first night it was never an issue. We enjoyed several meals with Amy and Austin at Lubbers Landing and also at Cracker P's. Tahiti Beach is just minutes away as is the beautiful settlement of Hope Town. We had world class snorkeling with majestic eagle rays just a few minutes away. We also used the pool almost every day. It was very difficult leaving. Don't let the stairs scare you away - I have old overweight arthritic knees and they were not a problem. We mainly used the golf cart anyway. Don't hesitate to book this lovely home.

BROUGHT IN 2014 WITH A BANG AT CLIFFHOUSE!!

We spent Dec 22 through January 1 2014 in the outstanding and beautiful Cliff House, the best Christmas and New Year's ever! We've stayed on Lubbers before and were able to hook up with friends/locals we had previously met. The house is absolutely beautiful very modern and comfortable!! The views and breezes are fabulous and although we used the marina for our boat slip, hanging out on our own private dock especially for John Bull's firework display on New Year's Day was really cool!! We spent several evenings with Austin and Amy at Lubbers Landing what a great place to eat that we could take our golf cart to (love the tuna burgers) they are so much fun and New Years was a blast! Make sure to charter a fishing trip with Michael Schreiner Down Deep Charters, he knows his stuff and is a fascinating character that is a local bahamian with lots of sea stories. As echoed by several of the other guests comments, the Abaco's are a fantastic place to visit if you want to do the non touristy kind of vacation to enjoy the beauty and nature of the islands....and don't forget to go to the west side of the island with a cocktail and a precious dog named Rigatoni who will lead the way for sunset!! The owners were so friendly and easy to communicate with and kudo's to Donny for all his helpful and cheery assistance. Thank you Cliffhouse and Lubbers Quarters Cay! WE SHALL RETURN!!!
