In West Herefordshire's 'Golden Valley', 8 miles from the famed bookshops and town amenities of Hay-on-Wye, this lovely barn conversion vacation rental, standing on Little Llanafon Farm, lies just outside the charming village of Dorstone. Close to the owner's holiday home and craft workshops on a small non-working farm, it offers an excellent base for exploring the unspoilt Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and its many footpaths and mountains. There is canoeing and also coarse fishing permits available on the River Wye just two miles away. Cycle hire is available locally, and there is a golf course at Hay-on-Wye. Other facilities for the energetic include sports centres (15m) swimming pools (15m) pony trekking (9m) and paragliding! Our area has a superb selection of pubs, restaurants and take-aways, our nearest pub in Dorstone - 'The Pandy' is mentioned in the Egon Ronay Guide. For those who wish to cater for themselves, there is a village shop in Peterchurch (two and a half miles), which is open from eight to ten o'clock Monday to Saturday, there is also a Co-op in Hay-on-Wye. |
