Located in the Harbor Springs/Petoskey area, Trout Creek is adjacent to two of Michigan's most popular ski resorts - Boyne Highlands and Nub's Nob. Boyne Mountain at Boyne Falls, another popular ski resort, is a short drive from Trout Creek. If you are a golf enthusiast, Boyne Highlands Golf Courses are just across the road, and many other premier golf courses are in the area.

There are adventure activities in the area for everyone, such as biking, swimming, boating, fishing, camping, hiking, hunting, and fall color tours.
