Description

The Connaught is a luxurious, purpose built, family run bed and breakfast home. It is approved by the Irish Tourist Board and is a member of the Town and Country Homes Association. All our rooms are ensuite with electric blankets, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryers and remote control multichannel, cable t.v. We offer a superb breakfast menu, a fact testified by the many complimentary entries in our visitors book. We prepare all our breakfast dishes to order. All our breads are homemade. Our home has gardens back and front, a private carpark and overlooks Galway Bay. The Connaught has received many recommendations from various well know travel publications i.e. Frank and Fran O'Sullivan, Bed and Breakfast Ireland by Elsie Dillard and Susan Causin, Le Guide du Routarde and The Hidden Places of Ireland by Travel Publishing Ltd.
We are situated on the Barna Road, on the outskirts of Salthill with panoramic views of Galway Bay. It is a very relaxing and peaceful area with the bird sanctuary close by..

The Connaught provides an excellent base for touring the areas of Connemara, The Burren, Cliffs of Moher and a day trip to the Aran Islands and facilities for golf, fishing, horse riding and windsurfing al virtually on the doorstep. Galway City is the capital of the West of Ireland, a thriving modern city with a university, Institute of Technology, shipping port and airport. It has also become an important centre for promoting the arts and culture. Although it has recently been classed as Europes fastest growing city, it still manages to retain much of its olde worlde medieval charm. Galway city provides an excellent base from which to discover the breathtaking beauty offered by the Connemara and Aran Islands to the West, Lough Corrib to the north and the Burren in Co. Clare to the south. Galway is a place of contrasts. A medieval city, rich in heritage and tradition, it now hosts some of the leading high technology industries that have driven the unparalleled growth in our economy.
