Welcome to El Matador Resort, on beautiful Okaloosa Island. The powdery, sugar-white sands found here are unique to this exclusive area, and if you are fortunate enough to vacation here, you'll experience a beach vacation like nowhere else in the US. The island atmosphere of Okaloosa eliminates the crowded found in nearby Destin, while putting you within minutes of Destin Harbor and all of the attractions of the Emerald Coast.
El Matador Resort, unit 217 is tastefully decorated and offers a wonderful vacation experience on a budget. This unit, located in building 2, is close to the ocean and pool.
The living and dining area, which adjoin the private patio, have an open floor space, offering room for your family to relax. This unit is on the ground floor with a wide expanse of grass outside of the door.

We provide bed linens, blankets, bath towels, etc. Please bring your own beach towels. There are communal Washers and Dryers near the elevator lobby on each floor.
El Matador Resort is a gated resort, with a 24 hour security check point. Spaceous lawns and walking paths provide a peaceful getaway within the resort. 2 large pools offer fun for everyone. A large exercise gym and his/her spas are also free to everyone staying in the resort. There are basketball and tennis courts available to everyone, and a large reception hall may be reserved in advance for parties or meetings.
About the area: Okaloosa Island is part of a 30 mile stretch of continuous natural sand barrier. The ocean here is typically as clear as any water can be, with an emerald green color unique to this small area. The sands are pure white and powdery, like sugar, and the beaches are kept emaculately clean and safe by wonderful Okaloosa County authorities. There is plenty of fun right here on the island, from putt putt golf, to outdoor grills to fine dining and night life. We have a fishing pier just a mile away, which is also the home of the original Gulfarium Dolphin Exhibit. Take the kids to the Gulfarium to see dolphins perform, as well as their friends the walrus, sea lions, and penguins. They'll love it.
Okaloosa Island is located within Fort Walton Beach and near world famous Destin. Destin, a beautiful 10 minute drive to the East, where she will meet you with a picturesque view of the Destin Harbor at Harbor Walk Village. Destin is home to the largest private Gulf Fishing Fleet and busiest charter deep sea fishing fleet in the Southeast. If you are interested in good seafood, then just pick one of Destin's many dockside grills for a taste of the day's fresh catch.
The more adventurous may enjoy a jet ski dolphin tour, or a parasailing adventure. You may also find bungee jumping, go karting, golf, putt putt golf, water theme parks, outlet shopping and much more. Bring your family to our beautiful coastline, and take home memories of a lifetime.

The pictures does this home no justice at all. It's very nice and comfortable, my guest and I enjoyed the walk to the beach which is not far at all. The owner was there for all of my questions, not matter what time of day/night it was. Next year I'll be booking with her.

Our stay in the condo was absolutely amazing. It was so wonderful being in a fairly secluded area with super easy beach access. The condo itself is like home, like staying at mom's house. The owners have thought of everything, when they say the kitchen is fully equipped, they actually mean it. We didn't have to wish for anything or do without when preparing our meals. The rooms were spacious and it was so comfortable with such a large group. We are definitely putting this down as one of the best trips ever and that was in part because of the awesome place we were staying. The entire condo was great, the pools, the beautiful grass areas outside the room, and the security desk lady was just so nice and inviting. Oh, and the closet of fun, they have one, two and three of most anything you need for the beach. Thanks to the gracious owners for extending their property to us.
