This unit is located in the Casa Marina II building on Estero Island. I've stayed on Sanibel Island as well as here. Sanibel is more exclusive and less commercialized than Estero; depending on how much of a premium you place on that experience, you're likely to find that this unit is a much better value than any vacation rental you'll find on Sanibel. It's one floor above the building's ground floor; you have a choice of taking stairs or an elevator. There is ample parking close by. I would describe the interior as "near-luxury." It doesn't have granite countertops, but it has quality furniture and is tastefully decorated, making for a very comfortable stay. There are two bedrooms and three places to sit down and eat a meal: the dining room table, the kitchen bar, and the lanai. Communication with the owners is very good. There were no problem obtaining a prompt, complete refund of my security deposit. In a kitchen drawer are a key to the swimming pool (190 feet from the condo) and a key to the tennis courts (a 1.1-mile drive away, go here to see directions: https://goo.gl/maps/H8J8Lpa4hzJ2 ). The beach, within walking distance, has plenty of medium-sized Florida fighting conch shells for the collecting, plus the occasional sand dollar and "shark's eye" shell. There ARE dolphins nearby, easily seen on an Estero Bay cruise, but I never saw one venture into the canal next to the condo.
Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay in the condo. We lucked out with gorgeous 85 degree weather 12/21/15 - 12/29/15. The condo had everything we needed. The only thing we had to go out and buy was food. Everything else was provided: especially like having tissues, napkins, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, plastic wrap and baggies made available. They even provided beach chairs and beach toys which our grand-daughter used. We were about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the beach and the closest eateries. Our grand-daughter of 7 grumbled a bit about the walk. (We didn't have a car, just used the trolley to get around, so we did have a lot of walking to do.) I do wish the trolley came more often. We had a 10 minute walk to the trolley stop and it only came every 45 minutes. If you missed a time, then you had a long wait. But we bought the 3 day pass and we could hop the trolley whenever we wanted. The condo location needs to be updated: This particular condo unit did not overlook the now defunct golf course, it overlooked the canal and out into the bay. It actually was at the opposite end from the golf course, but it was right by the pool. The location added to the walking time, but the area was quiet which we appreciated. We visited Lover State Park which is just a quick trolley ride to the south. We also rode the trolley to the north Town Square area which was crazy with people. It was a 20 minute ride up north, but I hear that it can take much much longer when the island population rises to its highest peak time. We liked the quieter southern local of the condo. We were close to the Santini Plaza where we took an Estero Bay Express Dolphin tour for a reasonable price. They also had paddleboarding and kayak tours. (Good Times Charters was further away and more expensive). My grand-daughter loved the Dolphin tour! The only thing that would have made this stay even better, would have been a couple of bikes for our use.
My family and I were very pleased with our stay in this condo. The area is very quiet and not noisy like the north end of the island. The condo has all the bells and whistles and we even got to see some wildlife in the canal. We will definitely be back.
really enjoyed the stay ! condo was very clean, actual condo itself was nicer than the pics. The owners are very nice to work with, had no issues at all. Loved the lanai and being able to see the manatee playing in the afternoon.
We stayed at this condo for the week of April 18 to 25, 2015. It was a lovely peaceful location with all the facilities of home. We saw manatees and dolphins in the canal and had the swimming pool to ourselves most days. We have already booked again for 2016.
What a beautifull location. The area is farther down the beach in a quieter location but only 10 minutes from the action at the Pier.So many good places to eat and to view wildlife or go shelling. We have been coming to the Ft. Myers area for over 25 years and this place met and exceeded our expectations. We plan on being back next year!
My wife, son and I recently spent a week staying in this condo. Having been to Fort Myers before and renting from the owners previously it was a no branier to use them again. Condo has all the amenities of home and more. beaches are close by, as is state park. you can get around without a car if you like as trolley stops a short walk away and can take you all over the area. Pool at complex is very nice and we enjoyed it and the local beaches every day of our stay. I woudl highly recommend this condo for couples and familes especailly if you are looking for an enjoyable and relaxing time in a tropical location.
We rented this condo for my father in law for his 70th birthday and they LOVED it...hoping to go back in 2009
