About Rodney Smith I am the manager of a historic hotel in downtown Charleston. I know what is needed to have a comfortable stay and have tried to incorporate it into the renovations on our family beach house. I have 3 kids and we love the beach. We go crabbing, fishing, and boating. I have enjoyed this house since I was born and would love to pass along that experience with others Rodney Smith purchased this House in 1930 Why Rodney Smith chose Folly Beach I did not choose it, it chose me! I could not have done a better job if I had tried. What makes this House unique You will be staying in a piece of Folly history. You will notice that the kitchen ceiling is the original army hut ceiling from 1920. A fully equipped modern kitchen if your in the mood for cooking and great food just 11 blocks away if you are not. If you tire of the sand and still crave the water, James Island county park is just 15 minutes away and has a great water park called the Splash Zone. Historic Charleston is also just 15 minutes away.
