The picturesque 17th century town of Honfleur is the eighth most visited site in France, coming after St. Tropez. Thousands of visitors are drawn every year to the Old Port, surrounded by tall, narrow houses, nearby St. Catherine's church made of wood, and the quaint narrow roads with over 100 art galleries and craft shops and almost as many restaurants. A small fleet of fishing boats which leave the port every night. passing through the lock and under the Normandy bridge to reach the open sea. A walk along the canal to the lock, or a stroll through the flowered park is a necessity, as is a visit to the "Personality Park" which features those famous men and women who have had a connection with Honfleur and its region in the past. This park connects the centre of Honfleur with the local beach. A visit to the town of Honfleur is a visit to days gone by.

There are over 100 art galleries and as many restaurants in the pedestrian zone which makes up the centre of Honfleur. Along the waterfront there is a large indoor swimming pool, tennis courts and miniature golf, paddling pool and children's games on the beach, butterfly reserve and parks, including the 'Jardin des Personalités' featuring the well-known people connected with Honfleur. Connecting the estuary of the Seine River and the open sea to the port of Honfleur is a canal, with a lock which regulates the height of the water.

Deauville and Trouville, both very famous French resorts, are a 15-minute car ride away with their large sandy beaches, and lots of activities for children - pony riding, miniature golf, "bouncing" games centre, bicycle, tandem and tricycle hire. For adults there are two casinos with their games and restaurants, and where dinner dances and shows are regularly held. Deauville is well known for its horse racing and its yearling sales which take place every autumn. Several golf courses are available in the area. In summer the area is alive with outdoor shows, antique markets and special events
