The Reel Inn, in Au Train Michigan is just a short 10 minute drive from Munising. Our properties consist of 2 modern log cabins,one is a lodge and the other a cabin both rented individually. Our Lodge is located right on the bank of the famous Au Train River, known for being one of the best destinations for canoeing and kayaking in upper Michigan. The Lodge has 7 full size beds as well as 3 log full size futon style couch/beds and a toddler bed. The lodge has a full kitchen (basic spices provided), 1 1/2 baths and 2 additional full size vanities in the sleeping areas. The cave is a separate family room with its own flat screen TV, with gaming inputs, a extra fridge and a washer/dryer. The cave is equipped with many board games and hundreds of DVD's. Your rental has a washer/dryer & includes all linen and towels. The lodge is equipped with 2 digital cable TV's, wireless high speed internet (6 MB/s) and dvd players. Onsite we have a complimentary canoe, paddle boat and several bikes including adult, youth and a tandem. We also have kayak rentals on site, 2-10 ft,3-12 ft & 1-14ft tandem. They are $75 per unit for the length of your stay (payable on site if you wish)if you pre-pay them in advance with your reservation they are only $50 per unit for the entire duration of your stay. reservations are not necessary but are recommended as we do rent to the public as well.
This destination puts our guests only 1/3 of a mile from one of the top 10 most pristine sugar sand beaches in the U.S. You will be only a 15 minute drive to countless sightseeing adventures which include dozens of waterfalls and boat tours of the famous pictured rocks national park. If you enjoy hiking,biking or atv/snowmobiling, trails are practically out your back door. Spectacular fishing experiences in the Au Train river, Lake and Lake Superior again only minutes away from our location.

Our other properties include the reel inn lodge which sleeps 14 and the largest single structure vacation rental property in the entire upper peninsula, the pinewood lodge estate is located 2 miles west from the reel inn. The Pinewood is a 8500 square-foot log private estate on 700 feet of Lake superior sand beach. The combined three of our properties will host upwards of 60 people.).

Our group (11 guys total) rented both the Lodge and the Cabin and both we're very clean and well furnished with amenities, cookware and utensils. We would wake up, cook breakfast and hit the snowmobile trails east towards Munising or west towards Marquette. At the end of the day we'd cook dinner and relax with a cocktail. My only complaint is that the knives needed sharpening and it would have been nice if the the door to the cabins had been shoveled (the parking lot was neatly plowed).

Total of 9 guys stayed in cabin. The conditions where close to perfect. Minus the bitter cold temps. -18 on our last day. The cabin was just as advertised with all the amenities you would need to make your stay feel like home. The snowmobile trails were right down the street with gas on the way. Plenty of parking available for trucks and trailers. The best part of the stay was the beds. Comfy newer beds made sleeping a joy. I was worried that it only had one shower but it was never an issue. Never ran out of hot water. Thanks for having us and I hope to come back again one day. If I could change one thing it would be to add a hot tub!
My family really enjoyed our stay. Well worth the money. Very clean, enjoyed the open floor plan, Trails are easily accessible from the cabin. Can’t wait to go back in February!!!
We really enjoyed it. Great setting. Kayaking was excellent. The Au Train river doesn’t contain any fish so you will have to fish elsewhere. Other than that it was awesome.
Needed a great getaway for my buddy's bachelor party. Plenty of room for all of us and had plenty to do. Beautiful cabin in a beautiful spot on Au Train river. Kayaked, fished, swam in lake Superior, and had bon fires with the Moon rising over the water. Even caught a glimpse of the Northern Lights. It was an awesome weekend.
