Doonbank Cottage is a beautiful, quiet and peaceful, thatched self catering holiday property set within four and a half acres of its own secluded private woodland, perfect for a self catering family break, nature, fishing, walking, painting or golfing holiday.

Situated in the picturesque village of historic Alloway in Ayrshire, a 10 minute walk to the world famous Brig O'Doon, Burns National Heritage Centre, the Brig O' Doon Hotel and Burns Cottage, and close to the main town of Ayr on the west coast of Scotland, the cottage has glorious views over the idyllic River Doon, which runs for half a mile as the property's eastern boundary, offering excellent opportunities for bird watching and riverside walks.

Doonbank Cottage is ideally located as a self catering holiday cottage, being an easy walk from the stunning Ayrshire coastline with its sandy beaches and a short stroll from the Burns Monument, Burns Cottage, Alloway Kirk, and the world-famous Brig O'Doon, inspiration for Robert Burns' poem 'Tam O'Shanter'.

The immediate area is famous for its superb sporting facilities, including the championship golf courses of Turnberry and Royal Troon. Sailing, game and sea-fishing are all locally available. The area contains many castles and country parks, and it is only a short trip from the coast to the islands of Ailsa Craig, Arran and Cumbrae.

The property overlooks the River Doon, an ideal setting for your morning coffee or evening drinks.

Policy

We make no charge for pets, and we will accept up to two pets. However, if you want to bring more, please contact us first. Please read out dog policy.

We ask for a £100 pound damage and cleaning retention from all guests who wish to bring their dogs. We do not cash this cheque. We ask that the deposit be sent to us in the form of a cheque in advance of your holiday. Please ensure you read our pets policy.

We make no charge for the use of high chair [one high chair], travel cot [one travel cot] or wireless broadband.

Normal changeover day is Saturday. Guests to arrive no earlier than 3pm on date of entry, and to vacate Doonbank Cottage by 10am on date of departure.

Open fire. Initial supply of fuel provided. Guests are provided with one laid fire and a basket of wood.

Short Breaks:

   1. Minimum short break is 5 nights.
   2. Short breaks can be taken anytime between Saturday and Friday so that they do not break up any two week period.
   3. We charge 85% for 5 nights and 95% for 6 nights.
